How did I miss the announcement of a Looking for Group movie due out this year!? Regardless, this video has just made me laugh out in hysterics, and clutch my T-shirt to my mouth to stifle the howling. Enjoy.
Love it or hate it, Star Wars remains one of the most successful franchises in Sci-fi. 30 years after the original movie hit the screen we’ve had two sequels, three prequels and countless comics, books, toys and video game adaptations, including an MMORPG.
One of the things that seems unique to sci-fi is the fans’ desire to imitate the characters they love, and Star Wars is no exception to this. For a while now I’ve been searching YouTube looking for fan-made lightsaber duels, and have mostly been disappointed with the quality of the choreography I found. Obviously I don’t expect every one to be as good (or better) than the films, I have to say the majority of what I’ve seen is rather basic and slow.
Below I present a small selection of the better ones! Enjoy. Please post any others you know in the comments, or here in the forums.
So I watched A Dog’s Breakfast today. It’s a film written and directed by David Hewlett, who plays Dr Rodney McKay in Stargate: Atlantis, one of my favourite shows. There are also lots of cameos from the SG universe, including Chris Judge (Teal’c), Rachel Luttrel (Teyla), Paul McGillion (Dr Carson Beckett) and Kate Hewlett (Dr Jeanie Miller).
I recommend it. Sorry for the short post and lack of links, but in a hurry to clear a backlog.
